Student Advisory Council
Superintendent Dr. Darling announced the creation of the Superintendent Student Advisory Council (SAC). The SAC is designed to be a bridge between the student body and the district administration, providing a platform for students to voice their insights, concerns, and suggestions directly to the district leadership. Comprised of Grandview High School students in all grades, Dr. Darling says, "this is a unique opportunity for students to develop leadership skills, collaborate with district leaders, and play a critical role in shaping the future of our schools, and their perspectives will be invaluable in shaping policies, initiatives, and the overall educational environment to better serve our diverse community."
SAC Mission
To serve as a vital bridge between the student body and district administration, providing a dynamic platform for students to express their perspectives, articulate concerns, and offer actionable recommendations for positive change.
SAC Goal
The general lack of understanding around the use of hate speech is the problem that needs to be solved. The early stages of the SAC is to educate Administrators, Teachers, Community Partners, and students about hate speech and its origin, with the goal of policy creation specific to hate speech.
