Grandview moves to bulk meal distribution - pick up 5-day meal packs on Friday at Grandview High School
We want to announce that the Grandview School District will be moving to a 5-day bulk meal pick up on Fridays, beginning this Friday, Nov. 20.
We apologize for any inconvenience this change in routine may create for our families. But know that we are making the move to try to make meal pick up easier and more worthwhile. Instead of having to come daily to pick up one breakfast and one lunch for each of your children, you will now just have to come one day a week and pick up five days worth of breakfasts and lunches. And, yes, you will get to pick up one five-day bulk meal pack for each of your children.
This week’s meal pack will include one beef patty, one chicken patty, one slice of pizza, five chicken nuggets, two cheese sticks, one pound of frozen mixed vegetables, ½ cup of uncooked rice, two buns, one package of cheese crackers, three apples, three oranges, four frozen apple juice cups, one breakfast bar, one package of breakfast pastries, one bowl of cereal, one package of instant oatmeal, one breakfast bagel pizza, ½ gallon of white milk and two half-pints of chocolate milk.
The 5-day bulk meal pick up will take place from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 2 to 5 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 20, at Grandview High School. Please enter the high school from the driveway off of West Fifth Street, located just past the softball field. Continue past the building and follow the driveway around the back of the school to the kitchen receiving area. Staff will be there to greet you.
The move to a 5-day bulk meal pack, means there will be no meal pick up available this week (Nov. 16-19). There will also be no meals sent home with students who are in hybrid learning. Instead, the bulk meal packs will be available on Friday. The meal packs will be distributed on a first come, first served basis to anyone in the community who has children between the ages 1-18.
