New return to school (hybrid) dates announced - Updated Oct. 9, 2020
In the Grandview School District, we are working diligently to bring scholars back on site. However, in order to best ensure the safety of our scholars, staff and community we have made the difficult decision to push back start of our hybrid-learning model to Monday, Oct. 26.
At the elementary level, that means all students in grades prek through five who elected to join our hybrid model will begin classes on Oct. 26. This change also effects our move to hybrid learning for our scholars at Grandview Middle School and Grandview High School, as that the Yakima Health District is requiring a three-week gap between building start dates. This means hybrid learning will begin at Grandview Middle School on Monday, Nov. 16, and at Grandview High School on Monday, Dec. 7.
We know that making these shifts is a challenge to everyone and we want to give families as much time as possible to prepare. We also feel this push will help us maximize learning, communicate with families and ensure that all safety measures are in place before scholars come into the buildings. Until then, we will continue to serve our scholars, families and community using the remote learning model we currently have in place.
If you have questions, please reach out to the administrators in your building. Thank you.
