EL / ENDS Policies

The district’s Ends are the outcomes the School Board expects the district to achieve. They describe what results should be produced, for whom, and the general value or cost associated with those results. The Board adopts policies that define these Ends so the district has a clear understanding of the priorities and strategic direction it must follow.

While the superintendent is responsible for determining how to accomplish these outcomes, their decision-making is not unlimited. The Board also sets Executive Limitations, which are policies describing what actions, methods, or practices are not allowed when working toward the Ends. This means that any methods not specifically prohibited are considered acceptable.

In effect, the Board outlines what must be achieved and what boundaries must not be crossed, while giving the superintendent the authority and flexibility to decide how to achieve those goals.
