Superintendent Search

  • The Grandview School District is in the middle of a superintendent search. The search officially began on March 29, when the job listing was posted, and the school board hopes to announce a new superintendent by June 9.

Grandview School District - Expedited Superintendent Search Calendar

    • March 28 - Board approves search plan calendar
    • March 29 - Online Focus Group Survey - in both English and Spanish opens on the district website. Provides for input from staff, parents, students, community, etc.
    • March 29 - Position posted on NWLA, WASA, WSSDA, WALAS and AWSP websites.
    • March 29 - Position announcement finalized - announcement mailed to 3,000+ nationwide - candidate recruitment begins.
    • April 10 - Focus group meetings with staff administrators and students
      • 11:30 a.m. to 12:35 p.m - ASB/Leadership Class at Grandview High School
      • 1:30-2:15 p.m. - Cabinet at District Office
      • 2:30-3:30 p.m. - District Administrators at the District Learning Center
      • 3:45 p.m. & 6 p.m. - Staff at GHS Commons
      • 5 p.m. - Online Focus Group closes
    • April 11 - Focus Group Meeting with community, in English and Spanish
      • 6 p.m. - GHS Commons in Spanish
      • 7 p.m. - GHS Commons in English
    • April 13 - Brochure finalized
      • 5:30 p.m. - Special board meeting in the Board Room
        • Discuss information to be posted in the brochure
        • Salary range discussion
        • Brochure sent to interested applicants once board approves
    • April 25 - Mid-search report/preparation for interview phase at regular board meeting
    • May 16 - Application deadline
    • May 23 - Screen report to the board
      • Work session with the board
      • Select candidates to be invited for preliminary interviews
    • May 30 & 31 - Preliminary interviews - open meeting
      • Interview 5-6 semi-finalists
      • Executive Session to determine finalists will beheld following final interview
    • June 6-8 - Final interviews
      • One candidate each day; schedule to be developed, but will include:
        • Schools and district office visits
        • Meetings with students and staff
        • 5 p.m. Dinner with the Board
        • 6 p.m. Community forum
        • 7 p.m. Interview with the Board in Executive Session
    • June 9 - Announcement of Selection
    • June 13 - Contract to be offered - regular board meeting
      • Open board meeting
      • Offer to be pre-negotiated by consultant
    • July 1 - Selected superintendent reports
