The Internship Experience
- Employ and pay the intern (salary, benefits, payroll, workers' compensation
- Maintain liability insurance coverage
- Ensure intern meets eligibility background clearance requirements
- Handle all employment matters (HR issues, discipline, termination if needed)
- Communicate with university and placement district regarding performance
- Ensure intern remains in complaiance with employment requirements
- Ensure intern is enrolled and in good standing in the school psychology program
- Provide internship requirements and required hour guidelines
- Assign a university supervisor
- Monitor progress toward required hours and competencies
- Complete required academic evaluations and approve internship completion
- Recommend intern for credential upon successful completion
- Provide appropriate intership experiences alighned with state requirements
- Assign a qualified School Psychologist as on-site supervisor
- Provide regular supervision consistent with state and university standards
- Provide workspace and access to student information as permitted by law
- Provide performance feedback and complete required evaluations
- Notify sending District and University of any concerns
