• Have questions or concerns about whether their child may have a disability.
• Are concerned about their infant, toddler, or preschool-age child’s development.
• Know their child has a disability and are looking for appropriate educational services.
• Have concerns about their school-age child’s learning, development, or ability to succeed in school.

If your family is living in a temporary situation, you may contact the school district where you are currently staying to request a screening or evaluation.

If your child currently attends a private school located within the boundaries of Grandview School District and you suspect your child may have a disability, you may refer your child to Grandview School District through the Child Find process.

Grandview School District conducts referral meetings and evaluations for eligible students attending private schools within the district boundaries. If this applies to your child, please contact the Grandview School District Special Programs Office.

For our youngest learners, Grandview School District partners with Children’s Village in Yakima, Washington. Children’s Village provides evaluations and early intervention services for infants and toddlers from birth through age 2.

An evaluation can help determine whether your child is developing as expected and whether they may benefit from early intervention services.

Grandview School District provides developmental evaluations for children ages 3–5 to identify possible delays or disabilities in areas such as:

• Language and communication
• Motor development
• Cognitive development
• Social-emotional development

If you have questions or concerns about your preschool-age child’s development, or would like to refer your child for an evaluation, please contact the Grandview School District Special Programs Office.

Grandview School District identifies and evaluates students ages 5–21 who may have a disability and may need special education services.

A parent, school staff member, or other individual with concerns about a student may make a referral through the student’s local school.
