Safety and Security
The safety and security of students and staff members are a top priority for the Grandview School District. Safety in schools is not just a priority, it is a necessity. The Grandview School District recognizes this important need, and created the Director of Safety and Security position to which Lupe Martin will lead.
The Director of Safety and Security will oversee three full-time security personnel, Youth Development Specialists, and collaborate with GSD staff for student re-engagement programs. He will also work closely with the Grandview Police Department and the Yakima County Sheriff's Office to support each others’ student safety efforts. Additional duties will include initiating gang prevention programs and strategies, identifying security gaps, providing ongoing training for staff and leadership, and overseeing the coordination and facilitation of Threat Assessment procedures and processes. Director Martin will also work closely with the School Safety Operations & Coordination Center (SSOCC) through ESD105 out of Yakima.
