Hayley Mesplie

Hayley Mesplie serves as the Program Director for the Yakima Valley School Psychology Consortium, a regional initiative funded through a $4 million grant awarded to Grandview School District. The consortium is dedicated to recruiting, preparing, and retaining highly qualified school psychologists to strengthen student supports across the Yakima Valley. Recognized as the 2024 Washington School Psychologist of the Year, Hayley is passionate about developing the next generation of school psychologists and creating systems that improve outcomes for students, families, and schools.

With more than 20 years of experience in education, Hayley has served students and school communities throughout Eastern and Western Washington. Before joining Grandview School District, she co-led school psychology services for Yakima School District, providing leadership in professional learning, special education, and comprehensive school psychology services. Her professional interests include Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS), neuropsychology, brain-based learning, and mentoring future school psychologists.

Hayley earned her Educational Specialist (Ed.S.) degree with high honors from Seattle University and is a Nationally Certified School Psychologist (NCSP). She also holds an Administrative Certificate from the University of Washington. In addition to her work with school districts, she serves on the Professional Educator Advisory Board (PEAB) for Yakima Valley College and as an Area Representative for the Washington State Association of School Psychologists (WSASP).

Before becoming a school psychologist, Hayley taught kindergarten in the United States and Year 4 in London, England. She also served as a senior writer and education liaison for the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children in Washington, D.C., where she developed internet safety curriculum and trained educators, parents, law enforcement officers, and FBI agents nationwide. Earlier in her career, she volunteered for two years in Romanian orphanages, focusing on early intervention and child development.

Outside of work, Hayley enjoys traveling, reading, swimming, and antiquing. She is bilingual and biliterate in English and Romanian and enjoys spending time with her husband and their two middle school-aged children. Whether cheering from the sidelines or driving to practices, games, and tournaments, she treasures every opportunity to support her family's next adventure.
