Rosa Aviles has dedicated over a decade of her career to the Grandview School District, bringing a rich and varied background in education and administration to her current role as the Executive Director of Special Programs. Her journey with Grandview began in 2013, marking the start of a deeply committed and multifaceted career.

Rosa's early roles in the district showcased her versatility and dedication to student welfare and education. She initially joined the district as a bus driver, ensuring the safe transportation of students. Her passion for special education led her to become a special education paraprofessional, where she provided essential support to students with diverse needs. Recognizing her potential and drive, Rosa transitioned to a special education teacher, where she was instrumental in creating inclusive and supportive learning environments.

Her leadership abilities became evident, and she was soon appointed as the vice principal of Grandview Middle School. In this role, Rosa worked to foster an environment of academic excellence and emotional support for all students.

She attended Washington State University, where she earned a Bachelor's degree in Sociology, Criminal Justice, Political Science Pre-Law, and Spanish. Her commitment to continual learning led her to obtain a Master’s in Business Administration, and her Administrator/Principal Credentials from the same institution. Furthering her expertise in education, Rosa also holds a Master’s in Teaching from Heritage University.

Throughout her career, Rosa has been guided by a profound belief in educational equity. She advocates passionately for the rights of all students to receive an equitable education, regardless of their race, gender, socioeconomic status, ethnicity, or any other diversifying factors. Her leadership in the Special Programs department is marked by a commitment to inclusivity, innovation, and the relentless pursuit of educational excellence for every student.

As the Executive Director of Special Programs, Rosa Aviles continues to inspire and lead with a vision that every student deserves the opportunity to succeed and thrive in an equitable and supportive educational environment. Her journey from bus driver to executive director stands as a testament to her dedication, resilience, and unwavering commitment to the students of Grandview School District.
