    School districts must take steps to make sure students, families and employees know about their rights. Not only is this required by law, but it helps families and staff know how to resolve concerns at the local level. We hope you find the following information helpful as we get ready to start the new school year.

  • Testing schedule available. Every year our students take part in various testing. Click here to see the Grandview School District testing schedule for the 2018-2019 school year. The schedule includes information on when testing is done and who the test is mandated by.

  • District Report Card
    To see the Grandview School District’s Washington State Report Card, visit the OSPI website or click on the Resources tab at, then click on the Parent Notifications title in the right sidebar. The report card includes information about the district’s state assessment data, accountability data, teacher and student demographics, graduation rates and enrollment data along with other important information.   • Public Records Requests
    The district provides information that is considered public record upon request. The Washington Public Records Act provides for the release of public records maintained by a public agency, such as the school district, with limited exceptions.
    Parents/guardians have the right under the Washington Public Records Act to request the public records regarding school employee discipline.

  • File a Citizen Complaint - Federal Programs
    Citizen complaint against a School District, Educational Service District (ESD) or school Service Provider (Sub grantee) Citizen Complaint against a School District, ESD or other School Service Provider. A citizen complaint is a written statement that alleges a violation of a federal rule, law or regulation or state regulation that applies to a federal program. Anyone can file a citizen complaint. 
There is no special form.
 There is no need to know the law that governs a federal program to file a complaint.

  • Teacher/Para Qualifications
    Parents’ Right to Know: Teacher and Paraprofessional Qualifications LEAs and schools inform the parents of Title I, Part A students that they may request, and the LEA and schools will provide, certain information on the professional qualifications of the student’s classroom teachers and paraprofessionals providing services to the child.   • Limited State Certification and Licensure
    The federal Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) of 2015 requires schools who receive Title I, Part A funds to notify parents or legal guardians when their child has been taught for four consecutive weeks by a teacher who has not met state certification/licensure requirements [ESSA Section 1112(e)(1)(B)(ii)].   • Family Income Survey information. The Grandview School District, a National School Lunch and School Breakfast Program participant, is taking advantage of the Community Eligibility Provision for the 2018-2019 school year. This means all enrolled students have access to a healthy breakfast and lunch at school at no charge. Families will not have to fill out and submit a free and reduced-price meal application. Instead, your school asks you to complete a Family Income Survey. The survey is a tool that could help make your school eligible for funding for other important academic programs.
