Construction of Arthur H. Smith School was orginally completed in 1953.The school was named for Arthur H. Smith, a teacher and administrator who worked in the Grandview School District for 24 years.
A.H. Smith School was remodeled in 2000 and 2001. This project added anew building to our existing structure, which is called the modular building or 300 wing. The school consists of 26 classrooms, two computer labs, one multi-purpose room, four portable classrooms a library and an office area.
At A.H. Smith School we recognize that only when the family and community actively participate with the school can success be achieved. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Debi Foster, the district volunteer coordinator, at 882-8537. You can help Arthur H. Smith School by attending and supporting school activities such as the fifth grade candy sale, our walk-a-thon, the book fair,t-shirt sales, Koalaty cards, parent/teacher conferences, parent education nights, family math nights, reading nights, Koalaty assemblies, character assemblies and P.A.C.T. Day.
We also have two after-school programs held in our building. The 21stCentury program runs Monday through Thursday from 3:05 to 4:55 p.m and the Good News Club, which meets every Tuesday until 5 p.m. Both programs continue throughout the school year.
