Phases of Learning During Closure
Our Continuous Learning Plan was implemented in phases and was created following guidance from the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) and the State Board of Education (SBE).
Below we outline the phases we used to implement remote learning for our Grandview students.
Phase One: March 23-April 24
Mailed learning packets to all PreK-12th grade students. Packets allowed students additional practice of previously taught standards. We also provided online links to various onlnine enrichment opportunities.
Phase Two: April 7-May 1
Started communication with students through Google Voice and synchronous video when possible. This communication focused on reestablishing relationships and answering questions about mailed learning packets. During this time the district also administered a technology survey to all of our families. This survey helped determine how many of our students would need devices to use to remote learning, as well as how many students had access to internet services.
Phase Three: April 27-June 17
For the rest of the 2019-2020 school year, staff is engaging all students in either on-line or off-line new learning.
