  • Scholastic Book Fair happening now at Smith

    All of our elementary schools are hosting Scholastic Book Fairs this coming week - just in time for conferences. The book fair is a great event that helps give kids access to good books, gives them a chance to choose their books and gives families a place to pick up affordable books. Below is the book fair schedule for Smith school: Arthur H. Smith Elementary School: Friday, March 22 - 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Family Night Event on March 22 from 2 to 5:30 p.m. Monday, March 25 & Tuesday, March 26 - 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, March 27 - 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 28 - 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Click headline for more information.

  • Smith students take special field trip to Holocaust Center in Seattle

    Over the weekend, Arthur H. Smith Elementary School librarian Jennifer Novak took a group of fifth graders to Seattle for a very special field trip. The group visited the Holocaust Center for Humanity in Seattle. They visited the museum, the center's library and listened to a presentation by Holocaust survivor Mr. Adler. The students who attended have taken part in a weekly book club organized by Novak. Novak said the students have read several books about the Holocaust. Click link to see more pictures.

  • Kinder Quick Start - Your One-Stop Kindergarten Registration Shop

    If you have a student who will be five-years old before Aug. 31, 2019, be sure to get ready for Grandview School District's Kinder Quick Start. The kindergarten registration main event will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 27, and from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 28, at the Grandview School District Office, 913 W. Second St. in Grandview. Kinder Quick Start is your one-stop kindergarten registration shop. Be sure to bring your child's immunization record, birth certificate, proof of home address, parent picture ID, and your child must be five before Aug. 31, 2019. Also bring your child for testing. The district will also be accepting preschool sign-ups during the event. A child must be four-years old before Aug. 31, 2019 to take part in the district's preschool program.

Keep up-to-date with mobile app. Remember, finding out what's for lunch or breakfast throughout the district is as easy as checking your phone. This year the school district has started using Health-e-Living to create and broadcast our menus and a part of that is the My School Menus app. The app is available in the Apple App Store or the Google Play store under My School Menus. The app makes it a snap to find out what's cooking.
